School Choir

Our school choir is open to children in KS2. We do not hold auditions, any child is welcome to join us.

 

Our choir is led by Katrina Conaty

The school choir meets  regularly on Monday after school in our hall. The members of our choir sing a wide variety of songs and the emphasis is always on having as much fun as possible.

Our choir have performed at many venues throughout Wylam and the whole of the North East, including:

  • Newcastle Central Station
  • The Sage, Gateshead
  • Stanley Burn Care Home
  • Village Fair
  • Hexham Christmas Market
  • The Metrocentre
  • St Oswald's Hospice.
Platinum Sing Up
 
Wylam First School is proud to be have been awarded the Platinum Award from Sing Up! We would like to thank Wendy Smith and other members of SAGE Gateshead who worked with us to achieve this award.
 
Platinum Schools
 
We follow the Platinum School framework that expects all Platinum Schools to:
  • Have an outward focus, inspiring and connecting to the wider community.
  • Link with and support other schools along their Sing Up journey.
  • Link with local schools to develop Young Singing Leaders.
  • Support staff CPD and further training needs in leading Sing Up and beyond
  • Will become part of Sing up awards community
  • Will join the schools panel - evaluating and sharing views on Sing Up development.
